- Young sportswomen who have displayed excellence in their chosen sport.
- Must be 18 years or under on the date of the Awards ceremony.

Junior Team of the Year
- Club and school sports teams who’s representatives are all 18 years or under on the date of the Awards ceremony.
- Able and disabled bodied teams.
PE Teacher of the Year
Young Sports Volunteer of the Year
Higher/Further Education Sportsperson of the Year
- Men and women who have been studying in Higher or Further Education within the nomination period.
- Able and disabled bodied athletes.
Community/Professional Coach of the Year
- Men and women who have shown commitment, dedication and/or success in coaching junior and or senior individuals/teams/or groups on a paid or voluntary basis.
Community Sports Award
- Organised activities or projects which use sport to add value to and enhance the community.
Unsung Hero
- Men and women who have shown commitment, dedication and/or success in any role with junior and or senior individuals/teams/or groups on a volunteer basis.
Team of the Year
- Any team based in the sub region. This does not include junior/school teams who should be nominated in their respective category.
Sportswoman of the Year
- Open to women 19 years or over on the day of the Awards Ceremony.
Sportsman of the Year
- Open to men 19 years or over on the day of the Awards Ceremony.
Lifetime Achievement Award
- Open to men and women who have shown commitment, dedication and/or success in coaching junior and or senior individuals/teams/or groups for a period of over 15 years.
Sporting Occasion of the Year
- Open to any sporting event, occasion or occurrence to have taken place in the sub region or by a team or individual based in the sub region within the nomination period.
